What was the title of your first job after graduating from the University of Aberdeen?
Owing to previous experiences and my newly acquired MBA, I was promptly promoted to Chief Operations Officer at Falcon Chemicals Nigeria Limited.
What did your first role involve?
As the COO, I handled the company's operations and internal affairs, focusing on executing the company's business plan in accordance with the established business model. I was tasked with overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the business while delivering results.
What is your current job title?
Managing Director at Falcon Chemicals Nigeria Limited.
What is your current role?
As MD, I create and report on business plans, monitor their efficacy and progress, manage resources, ensure employees move in the same strategic direction to achieve the company's mission and keep all relevant stakeholders informed of developments in line with the company's objectives. I also have to continuously monitor the annual budget and ensure that revenue/sales targets are met, manage and report on the effective implementation of a marketing strategy to sustain market relevance and promote products and services to increase sales.
Please briefly describe the journey from your first job after graduating to where you are now.
Before Aberdeen, I was the business development officer with the responsibility of increasing business opportunities for the business. After getting my MBA, I had developed superior strategic and analytical skills that made my job easier and also put me in the running for higher positions. I was first promoted to the position of Chief Operations Officer where I continued to display innovation, creativity and leadership skill, which eventually earned me my current position of Managing Director at the same organisation.
